More than 25 club members participated in the Southwest Division's Skills and Drills Clinic at our club on Saturday May 17 2025. The three-hour clinic opened with a demonstration and discussion of how to accurately measure - that is, how to determine which bowls are closest to the jack after an end has been completed. This was followed by two "head reading" demonstrations. "Reading the head" involves analyzing the layout of the bowls around the jack to decide the best shot to play next. Participants then learned about and practiced eight skill building drills ... and there was a free hot dog lunch after all the fun! Thanks to Heather Stewart and her team of coaches that included Scott Roberts, Fred Robles and Village residents Sheila Conti, Gary Barnes, Steve Duckworth and Steve and Joan Narmontas.
